Description

Fake MU Plugins is a simple plugin that let you test if a normal WordPress plugin can work as a sitewide automagically run plugin on a WordPressMU powered site.

This is useful if you don’t want to install WordPressMU somewhere just for simple testing.

Installation

  1. Unzip fakemuplugins.zip file and upload fakemuplugins.php to wp-content/plugins/
  2. Create a directory called mu-plugins in /wp-content/
  3. Log into your blog and activate the plugin
  4. Upload any plugin you want to see if works with WPMU to the new directory you made

Notes

The plugins added to the mu-plugins directory will run automatic, which means is no activating/ deactivating of them. This also means that if a plugin breaks your site, the only solution is to delete it. (Just like old times WordPress)

Plugins stored in a subdirectory won’t work.

Plugins with WPMU specific code won’t work, except the constant MUPLUGINDIR
